Hi there. Wounds take a long time to heal for several reasons. The wound could be infected and need antibiotic therapy. There could be an underlying problem that continues to cause the problem, such as ear mites causing the cat to continue to scratch the skin. Also, its possible the the would is actually a tumor. Warm water and Epsom salts can help keep the wound clean, but if it isn't healing, ultimately it should be evaluated by a veterinarian. I hope this is helpful. Thanks for using Pet Coach.

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. I would suggest having a vet take a look at Apin as he may have an ear infection that needs proper diagnosis and treatment. I am unsure where in the ear the wound is at but I would be very cautious using over the counter products in the ear. If it is on the flap of the ear you can use Betadine diluted in water (light brown color) to keep it clean and apply zymox ointment cream. If the wound is inside the ear, I would have that examined to make sure there is not a primary cause such as ear mites that need to be treated In a different way. I hope this helps guide you in the. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation if needed.
