Pet's info: Cat | Sphynx | Female | spayed | 6 months and 19 days old | 7 lbs
My cat was spayed a week ago and given her shots. She doesn't eat much but has been throwing up and has some diarrhea and sleeps a lot. What could be wrong with her? The vet says she's ok just a little dehydrated.

Hi and thanks for your post on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Although vomiting can cause dehydration, it is not common side of dehydration. Vomiting could be due to a number of medical conditions including eating something she shouldn't, viral infections, parasitic infections or food allergies could all be the cause. If she was given any pain medication after her surgery, vomiting could be a side effect of the medication. I would suggest taking her into see her vet in a few days if she still has not improved. You may try withholding for for 1/2 day and then giving her boiled chicken and rice for a day to see if that helps settle her stomach. Best wishes to you!
