Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 22 days old
Cocker spaniel breeding in first season My cocker spaniel female is 8 months old and has started to bleed a week ago. Recently I noticed my male dog is taking too much of interest on the female and I want to stop the first time breeding as she's still too small. What to do.. As they are always together

Great question! You are absolutely correct that it is too soon to breed Millie. You will need to keep them complete separate while she is in heat, which lasts three to four weeks. No contact at all, Keep them in separate rooms at all times, which means feeding them in these rooms. Take them out to potty separately. The only way to prevent them from mating is to keep them away from each other at all times. I hope this helps!
