My rescue cat had Giardia as a kitten when i first had him. He has been well for two years but it has now come back again. He is big ,strong and feisty and I can no longer dose hime with the Flagyl that put him right as a kitten. I am looking for a tasty alternative that I can put on hos food. Thank you for helping me.

Giardia can only be treated with either Metronidazole or Fenbendazole at the appropriate dose for your cats weight. I would consult your vet for the appropriate dosage for your cat since they have examined him before. Veterinary client patient relationship act says that a pet has to be examined by said vet who prescribed that pet medicaiton. I hope this helps. Best wishes and take care.

I am sorry but we are unable to give doses or prescribe medications on pet coach. I would not recommend treating your adult cats for giardia unless they are showing clinical signs like diarrhea. Just because they are exposed does not mean they will get the parasite. hope that helps
