My cat grinds teeth when I brush them. Is this normal or safe for her?

Hi my baby isn't a big fan of teeth brushing at all. Not a shock haha. But I was curious about something. When I do her teeth, I use teeth wipes and whatever she won't let me get, we use a toddler toothbrush with kitty toothpaste on it, and I slide it towards the back while she opens and shuts her mouth (like she is chewing on it trying to get it out). Its a longgg process but when she opens and shuts her mouth while im cleaning, it sounds like she is grinding her teeth. Will she be okay?

Good for you for brushing Love Bug's teeth. It can be a big job, but it is really important and will help prevent problems in the future. My cats don't like it either. I know exactly what you're talking about with the grinding of the teeth when they chew on the toothbrush. My cats do the same thing. I haven't noticed any problems with my cats' teeth, so I suspect it is just their normal chewing/grinding (trying to chew up what is in their mouth) that we are hearing. I hope that was helpful!
