My 14 week old Great Dane has worms and blood in his stool. Otherwise he is his usual playful self. The vet does not open until the morning. Do we need to take him to the ER?

As long as he is behaving normally, he can see your veterinarian tomorrow. Monitor for lethargy, pale gums or difficulty breathing. If he should develop any of these symptoms, have Drago seen at the nearest veterinary ER. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to identify the intestinal parasites so the appropriate dewormer can be dispensed. You may need to feed a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until the stool is normal.
