Why is my dog still throwing up and regurgitating after vet visits?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 15 lbs

My dog has been throwing up and regurgitating for nearly 2 weeks. It started with vomiting and now it appears to be regurgitation (in 2 instances the food was tubular in shape) our vet gave us anti nausea pills started her on omeprazole and then switched to Metoclopramide the episodes subsided for a couple of days and then started back. She has had all blood work (normal) barium x-rays to rule out Megaesophagus. She keeps liquids down. What could be wrong? Her vet can't figure it out.

It could be a tumor in the esophagus , this might be missed on the xray sometimes. it could also be a neurological condition. i would recommend having an ultrasound done by a specialist, this is the next logical step in order to try an get a diagnosis.
