My cat has a deep, oozing wound. Does she need vet stitches?

hi there, my cat tibbz has this nasty gash behind her ear, I noticed it about 2 hours ago when I saw there was a lot of puss behind her ear. I cleaned it up and it revealed a deep, hole like cut in her neck! The wound is about 2mm deep and about 0.5cm in length! I'm not sure what I should do, or if she might need stitches at the vet? It is also oozing with pus, but not as bloody... Many Thanks. Pet's info: Cat | Burmese | Female | 8 lbs

Hi and thank you for your post. If it is oozing with mucoid discharge (pus), and is a large enough cut, it is infected I will likely need to be flushed out by your veterinarian and stitched up. Tibbz will need to be on antibiotics as well. I would take Tibbz into your veterinarian as soon as possible to have this taken care of.
