My short hair cat Pee Wee losing weight with tiny sores all over body that itch and now has sores inside and outer ears plus black drainage from her eyes. It started about 10 months ago with tiny sores all over body and vet said it was an allergy to grain. Switched food and she seemed good till July when it all came back a 1000x worse. She is 11 years old and I have had her since she was 2 weeks old. Plus she is losing a lot of her hair now too. I have an appt for her on Friday morning.

I am so sorry to hear about Pee Wee. An allergy to a food is possible though an allergy to grain is much less likely than an allergy to a protein source. With weight loss, however, we worry in older cats about other illnesses such as kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and unfortunately cancer. If your vet has not already done so in the past few months, pee wee should have a bloodwork panel done and potentially X-rays to check for these diseases. Your vet my recommend a prescription diet if they are still concerned about a food allergy.
