Why is my indoor cat getting scabs and bald spots despite flea meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 years and 11 months old | 13 lbs

My cat has been getting these scabs that fall off and leave him bald. He was diagnosed with acne a few years ago so at first I thought nothing of it, but it seems to be getting worse. He is up to date on his shots, worm medicine, and flea treatment. He does not go outside and has not been around any other animals in over 6 months. What could it be?

I am sorry that Pharaoh is not feeling well. It is very hard to tell by the pictures what is going on with the skin . It is possible an allergic reaction, skin infection, skin mites or even auto immune disease can cause the above lesions. It would be best for Pharaoh to go see a vet to get a better look and determine the cause for proper treatment. Hope that helps and pharaoh feels better soon
