Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 5 lbs
Hey, so I'm a new owner and I recently bought a maltese puppy that's about 11 weeks and I fed my puppy some canned food, then after a couple of days I fed it dry food. then that ran out so I fed it canned food and once that one tin ran out i bought a different brand of dry food. but the problem is my puppy has severe diarrhoea with tummy rumbles and there is mucus and blood in it and she's very little and i'm worried and I don't know what to do.

Having a new puppy can be so much fun, but as a new owner it can definitely be a little stressful! It sounds like Bella may have colitis from changing her food around. She may also have GI parasites causing the diarrhea. There is also a possibility she could have a serious infection like parvovirus. Diarrhea with blood and mucous can be concerning in a little puppy as it can lead to dehydration and other issues. I think it's very important you take Bella to see a veterinarian as soon as possible so they can check her stool and decide if she needs a dewormer. They can also advise you as to if any other medications are needed. I would try to get Bella into see your veterinarian as soon as you can. You can try offering a bland diet of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice until you can see your veterinarian. I hope she is feeling better soon!
