What are these orange-red bumps with pus on my kitten's back?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | spayed | 4 months and 1 day old | 3 lbs

I adopted my kitten about a month ago, she is a 4 month old, white and tan, Lynx point. I was petting her the other night and I noticed thesee three little bumps on her upper back area. I pet her all the time in the same spot and I've never felt these bumps so they must have appeared a few days ago. They feel like warts or a scab. They are an orange/red color and what looks to be a little bit of pus in them. I also was able to squeeze them, but not too hard and nothing came out of them.

She could have a bacterial skin infection. You could give her a bath with a medicated cat shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, have your vet take a look at her to determine the exact cause. She may need an antibiotic or a corticosteroid to help treat her problem.
