Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 57 lbs
Our pit bull bobo jumped about 8 foot off of our porch and when he landed I believe he hurt his back left foot. It's only swollen on the inner tow but it's swollen about double it's size. He walks on it and runs fine but sometimes when walking on the bed he limps. I don't see anything between his pads and it doesn't seem to be red, bleeding, or pusing. I'm very worried about him. He like it a little bit and won't exactly let us touch it but doesn't whimper or whine.

He may have fractured a bone in his paw. If he seems painful, have him examined at the nearest veterinary ER tonight. They can do x-rays and administer pain management. If he is resting comfortably, you can take him to your veterinarian tomorrow morning for the same treatment. Restrict his activity for the rest of the night. No running, jumping or rough play.

Pitt bulls are tough. With this amount of swelling I would be concerned about a possible hairline fracture or complete fracture of one of the fragile toe bones (metatarsal bones). Apply a cold compress on the toe (if allowed) for 5-10 minutes and see if the swelling goes down within 12-24 hrs. If it does not go down and he is still limping by tomorrow then you are better off making an appt with your vet for much needed x-rays of the toe to look for any possible fractures. Also the vet can give you a prescription for pet friendly anti-inflammatory medications to help ease the swelling and pain.
