Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 7 years and 9 months old | 17 lbs
Since coming back from the groomers 2 days ago my Shih Tzu's eye has appeared almost shut with significant discharge. As of today his ear seems to be in some discomfort since he's frequently scratching it. I'm not sure if these two things are related but I'm really concerned. He doesn't seem to be himself.

It sounds like Phat Boi is experiencing two different problems. If his eye is shut from discharge, then he likely has an eye infection, such as conjunctivitis. Any eye infection is considered an emergency, so I would take him into a vet right away. Leaving an eye infection untreated can lead to vision loss, which is why he needs to see a vet now. The vet can confirm that he does have an eye infection, and can prescribe treatment for it. As for his ear, it sounds like he might have an ear infection. While at the vet, they can examine his ear, determine if he does have an ear infection, and can prescribe medication to treat it. Please take him into a vet now.

Poor Betty! It could be that she has an eye infection or may be suffering from allergies. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with them should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving them untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Betty into a vet immediately to have her eye examined and diagnosed so it can be treated.
