I have a six year old cat that I've had for three months having gotten her from a shelter. While she seems just fine, she never purrs though makes a wide spectrum of other sounds. Is this normal to have a cat that never purrs?

Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, it is normal. Sometimes, it does take time for cats to feel completely comfortable and normal with their surroundings to start purring. Some cats just don't purr like other cats do though. I am sure you are doing a great job with your new kitty, just give it some time. Good luck! Have a good evening!
