Hi and thank your for your question on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry to hear Merlin was diagnosed with gastritis. It is common for cats with gastritis to be on and off their food for a few days. You may try offering his a bland diet of boiled chicken, rice, and plain canned pumpkin (not pie filling) for a few days and see if he will eat a little of that. You may slowly introduce his normal food to him over the the course of a few days after a few days on the bland diet. I hope this has helped and best wishes to you and Merlin!
