I have foster kittens with an upper respiratory infection and I don't know what else... How do I clean the room they were in so my other cat doesn't catch anything?

Hello and thank you for your question on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Good question! A wide variety of disinfects will deactivate the common viruses repressible for upper respiratory illness in cats as will steam cleaning. Lysol or clorox products or a diluted bleach solution can do the trick. I hope this helps and best of luck

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! For the floors, you may use bleach in a 1:30 dilution (meaning 1 part of bleach and 30 parts of water). This needs to be left in the surface for at least 10-15 minutes to be effective. For the furniture and clothing, you may use steam-cleaning as these viruses do not tolerate high temperatures well. Good luck!
