thankyou , i will be taking her to the vet, will she be put down because ever since we got back from our holiday (we had cousins look after her) she was unstable and her hind legs were limp, then we saw around her tail her fur was matted so we cleaned her and since then she was alright but sleeping 24/7 to the point where i had to wake her up to hand feed her and get her to drink, i know she is a nocturnal animal but she wont wake up at her on will at all.whats going on with her? and she's alone

I am sorry to hear this about your hamster but it sounds like you are making the right decision. It's hard to know what is going on with her. She could have a severe infection, like pneumonia (common in hamsters), or possibly cancer. Hamsters life span is about 1-2 years so she is fairly old for a hamster. She may be passing away from old age. I hope this helps. Again, it does sound like you have chosen the right thing to do. I know it was not an easy decision. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.
