My Boxer dog won't eat, is throwing up, and acting lethargic. Why?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 40 lbs

Starting yesterday afternoon my boxer started acting different. She wouldn't eat but would drink water she did throw up a few times(mostly water). Later last night she did eat and seemed to be back to her normal self. This morning she is back to just laying around, won't eat but did drink a little water. What could be causing this? Any ideas?

I would recommend taking her to a vet for evaluating. If she is vomiting and lethargic that could indicate something serious. Boxers can be a breed l own to bloat or get GDV. It could also be toxin or GI obstruction. Please have Ellie evaluated asap. I hope she feels better soon. Thank you for using Pet coach.
