My new puppy has diarrhea for 3 days but is eating. Is it Parvo?

My other puppy died of Parvo and I've gotten a new puppy and she's had diarrhea for the past 3 days she is eating and drinking tho. Should I be concerned?? Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 27 days old

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am so sorry for your loss! Congrats on your new family member! I am hoping Princess has received her first Distemper/parvo vaccine. Also I hope you were instructed to bleach or throw away your other puppies belongings so prevent passing parvo to Princess. There are many causes for diarrhea in a young puppy besides Parvo. It could be from intestinal parasites, other viral or bacterial infections, a food sensitivity, she ate something gross outside that is disagreeing with her, ate something toxic. I would start feeding her a bland diet of boiled chicken breast or hamburger mixed with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20lbs per day as small frequent meals. If the diarrhea worsens, she becomes lethargic, she stops eating or starts vomiting she should be seen by a vet as soon as possible. If the diarrhea just persists have her seen Tuesday when your Vet opens. I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery for Princess. Happy Labor Day
