My name is Gladys and my baby is Lucky. He was sick not long ago but got better and then all of a sudden his appetite changed and he kept throwing up even his water and when we got him to the vet she did blood work and saw that he had pancreatitus and had to be hospitalized for 4 days and then they did blood work again and said he would have to stay 4 more days until after Labor Day.. How dangerous is pancreatitus and could I loose my baby.

Pancreatitis can range from not severe/home treatment to life-threatening even with advanced emergency treatment. If he is not responding to initial treatments including IV fluids and IV pain medications, he may need additional diagnostics to see what else could be going on. Rarely, I have diagnosed a tumor or abscess in the liver or pancreas that was causing the pancreatitis. I would recommend discussing your concerns with the veterinarian taking care of Lucky to discuss his prognosis at this time.
