My 5-month kitten has ringworm and tapeworm. Can I treat both now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 2.9 lbs

Can a 5 month old kitten be treated for both ringworm and tapeworm at the same time? She is currently taking itrafungol for the ringworm. But recently I found tapeworm eggs on her bed and not sure if I am treat that now.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I'm sorry to hear Luna is having issues. You can treat for them concurrently, and I would recommend getting her dewormed to treat her tapeworms. Tapeworms come from ingestion of fleas, so I would also ensure that she doesn't have a flea infection as well. Good luck!
