Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 30 days old | 1lb

Hello I have 2 questions in which I hope you can help me with. 1, I recently got a kitten 2 weeks old she had tape worm and is being treated for fleas and deworming. What is the best way to keep her from getting it again. Also she has not gotten vaccinated yet. Would it be horrible or dangerous to wait about a week or 2 till I vaccinate her? She is 8 weeks.

Once tapeworms and the accompanying fleas are treated, the tapeworms shouldn't come back. Cats get tapeworms from eating infected fleas while grooming, though I would recommend a repeat treatment in 3-4 weeks just to be sure. I start vaccinating kittens between 6-8 of age, so now is the perfect time to start. I would recommend starting as soon as possible to make sure that she is adequately protected. Kittens get boosters every 3-4 weeks until 1 shot after 16 weeks of age.
