My dog suddenly has vomiting and diarrhea. Should I be concerned?

My dog just vomited up the last two things he's had. But he also had a small bout of diarrhea before that occurred. Should I be concerned? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 5 months old | 6.7 lbs

Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is difficult to know exactly what is going on based on that as vomiting and diarrhea can be observed with many conditions. Having said that, this can be observed in cases of gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among many other conditions. I recommend that you withhold food tonight but keep water available at all times to avoid dehydration. You may start a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice tomorrow. If clinical signs of vomiting and diarrhea continue, have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Good luck!
