Is it safe to take my puppy outside before he's fully vaccinated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Male | 2 months and 11 days old

Hello, I have a puppy born 16th june, he has had 1st set of vaccinations, not second. The past few days i have taken him oitside for toilet in grass, the grass area is part of the grounds where i live- chateau/hotel. We get the occasional guests who bring dogs to the hotel, not often. Otherwise he seems happy and healthy. Is this okay? Thank you Ellie

It's not safe, mainly because the outside grass area is exposed to other dogs. parvo virus, which is the main danger at this age, can stay in the grass/soil for many months which puts Teddy in danger as long as he is not fully vaccinated.
