What vaccine can I use for my puppy's third shot if unavailable?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 10 days old

Due to financial reason I decided to give vaccine to my 3 pups on my own they have their 1st shot of vanguard 5 L4 at 10wk old. When I ask here in this site he said i can only give 2x this vaccine the 3rd dose must only be 5 plus. But I have been looking for only vanguard 5 plus here in the Philippines but no availability. What will I use on the 3rd shot of my pups? What other alternative?

Hello friend. We typically recommend giving puppies their shots starting at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age for Distemper and Parvo combination vaccines. Rabies is usually given by a licensed veterinarian by law starting at 12 weeks of age, then every 1-3 years bases on local laws. Other shots are also recommended depending on the area you live. I would contact a local veterinarian in your area and discuss this situation in order to determine the best protection for your animal. Most clinics in your area would carry the right vaccine and may consider helping you out financially if you ask. Give it a try, but worst case you could probably use the same vaccine for all three shots. Thanks for the question and good luck. Dr Popish.
