My dog ate cookies and has a rumbling stomach. Is she okay now?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 13 years and 6 months old | 30 lbs

My dog are 2-4 keebler stripes cookies Friday evening....shes been acting weird since Sat late late evening...lotsa belly sounds....warm ears and nose but is going potty and eating/drinking....is she ok...

It could be that the sugar from the cookies has upset her stomach leading to the belly sounds, but the amount of chocolate in the cookies wouldn't be enough to cause any toxicity. Given that she is going potty as well as eating and drinking, I'd say she is just fine. A dog's nose changes from cold to warm just by laying in the sun or a near a heat source, so that isn't a concern. As for the warm ears, that could be due to the heat if it's warm where you are. Eating high sugar items cause lead to inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract or even the pancreas. I would monitor her closely and consider feeding a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice to help her stomach settle. If she seems lethargic, painful, is having vomiting, or diarrhea, she should be seen by a veterinarian.

Pippa sounds like she has a very upset stomach! If the egg was filled with candy, she could become very ill, especially if there was a large amount of chocolate in the egg. If this was a boiled egg, she should be fine if she has a strong stomach normally. If she has a very sensitive stomach, any new food treat or new food item could give her severe vomiting and/or diarrhea. If she starts to have vomiting or diarrhea that doesn't resolve quickly, or if she is very lethargic and depressed, you need to take her to the vet for supportive care right away.

Can you help me? My dog is 3-4 years old, she ate a little bit of chocolate and a whole bag of sour patch kids marshmallows. Would her stomach be hurting? If so what do I do?
She will probably have an upset stomach, don't feed her today at all, how much is a little bit of chocolate though? chocolate can be extremely toxic to dogs if ingested in certain quantities but i would need an exact amount to tell you if she ingested a quantity that puts he in danger or not.

My Doberman ate 3 bagels. Her stomach is making weird noises as if she needed to use the restroom. She sometimes licks her stomach. She is sleeping right now and doesnt seem to be in pain. Should I be worried?
Hi, as long as the bagels were pure and did not contain any raisins or any other potentially toxic ingredients, I would not worry about it if she is resting. Let her rest today and take her for just short walks little and often, and monitor for any vomiting and diarrhoea. I would starve her for at least 12-18 hours. If you should notice that the abdomen is swollen, or if she restless, panting, then best to have her checked over. Thank you for using Boop by Petco !

My 75lb dog ate about 10 chocolate chip cookies. Will she be okay?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Since Mulan is 75 lbs there is likely not enough chocolate in the cookies to cause toxicity. But that amount of cookies could cause tummy upset or pancreatitis. If Mulan starts vomiting, having diarrhea or won't eat then make an appointment with your Vet. I hope this helps and good luck!

Poor Skye! You're correct that eating chocolate can often cause some diarrhea for the next day or so. As long as she isn't having any other symptoms and is acting fine otherwise, I would say she's "out of the woods" at this point for serious toxicity issues - you shouldn't need to worry :) If she's still having some diarrhea at this point, you can try witihholding food for the next 12 hours to give her stomach a chance to settle - then feed a bland diet of plain boiled chicken and rice for the next few days until her stools are back to normal.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I am sorry to hear Bella isn't feeling well. There is likely not enough chocolate in the cookies to cause chocolate toxicity (also since she is a large dog). However, even if it was too much chocolate, it is already past the point of being able to decontaminate her (remove the toxins). I suspect she isn't felling well because of stomach upset (diarrhea) from eating the cookies. I would recommend feeding her a bland diet for 2-3 days (boiled chicken and boiled rice) then transition her back to her normal diet. If that doesn't help, I would recommend taking her to a vet to make sure there is nothing else going on. Good luck and kisses to Bella!

A small cookie may not cause serious toxicity. You may see some gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting and diarrhea. You can manage these with a 24 hour fast followed by a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Symptoms of concern include hyperactivity, rapid heart rate, tremors or seizures. These should be addressed by your veterinarian.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Stephanie. Her temperature is still within the normal range. As long as she is eating, drinking and acting normal, it should be fine to monitor her. Her gastrointestinal tract could be grumbling for any number of reasons. She could have mild GI upset from her diet, stress or possible pregnancy. If it gets worse or she begins to act sick, then I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. I hope this information helps!

It sounds like there was not enough chocolate in the two cookies that Winnie ate to cause a problem. Keep an eye on her for the rest of the night. Signs of chocolate toxicity include hyperactivity, excessive vomiting, tremors, and seizures. If you notice any of the symptoms I would take her into the vet right away. But based on how much you described that she had I think she should be fine.
