My cat is vomiting dark green and has soft, green stool. What's wrong?

Hi my cat being sick a dark green colour and his poo is the same it's not hard but soft to the point of if u leave ice cream on the side for 5 mins

Poor Felix. There are several things that can cause vomiting and diarrhea including eating something he shouldn't, parasites, bacterial/viral infection, and much more. You can try to not feed him for 12 hours then reintroduce small amount of plain boiled or canned chicken (in water) to help settles his stomach. If he is not improving or if he gets worse I would see your vet for an exam. Your vet will be able to do a fecal and possible blood work or X-rays if needed. They will be able to give him medicine to help his nausea and loose stool as well. I hope this helps!

    Hi from across the pond! Thank you for submitting your question about Felix. If Felix is experiencing soft stools, there could be any number of causes for that. Something infectious like a virus or bacteria, especially if he is not up to date on vaccines. Parasitic infections could also be at play here as well as dietary indiscretion (eating something he wasn't suppose to), food allergies, or inflammatory bowel disorders. I would recommend you take Felix into your veterinarian for a full work up and fecal testing to rule out a parasitic infection. He may need medications Rx from your veterinarian. In the mean time you may offer a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice, but please take him into your vet as soon as possible. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
