Kitten with broken leg: What to do if vets are closed for a young one?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 15 days old

Hello, a 2.5 months kitten I think he broke his leg today. He is a feral kitten living in my garden, Vets on the phone in Beirut told me that he is too young for any eventual operation. Is it true?I put some child ant-inflammatory in a bit of tuna, but for now he is not eating. Could you please me advise what is the best thing to do. Can he recover by himself? No vet was available to visit him today cause it is Saturday and they are all closed

Please do not give him any child pain killers, these are very toxic to cats. surgery can be tricky at this age, but it is possible to have it done, although if it is a simple fracture- a splint and strict cage rest for 4-6 weeks could be enough to heal. for now leave him in cage rest to minimize his movement, if it is an open fracture he must see a vet urgently.
