Should I take my dog to the vet for flat, dark belly spots?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 7 years and 2 months old | 10 lbs

My dog has two spots on her belly that kind of look like freckles/small moles they are almost black should I take her to the vet? They don't seem to bother her and they are flat

Thank you for providing pictures of the black spots on Belle! You are correct they could be moles, but it's always good to have any concerning spots checked out by a vet. That's because there is always a chance in an older dog that they would be a sign of a malignant tumor. It's not emergency, especially if they aren't getting bigger, and I would have her seen by a vet in the next couple of days. I hope this helps :-)

    Hello, that dark spot should not be something that you need to worry about. Monitor it intermittently and make sure it is not becoming raised, painful, red, or having any discharge. As long as not of these occur then you do not need to worry about it and have your veterinarian take a look at it when he goes in for his next wellness exam. Hope this helps and best of luck.
