My dog's voice is rough and hoarse from barking. What should I do?

My dog had little harsh roughness in his voice since 22 july 2017 and thag day i went out on work and he barked excessively behind me as seen in security cameras so its been more than a weeks otherwise he is active in playing and also eating his meals actively but i am worried about the harsh voice that comes when he talkd to me but when he barks at strangers voice is normal and heavy so is it life threatening or wjat what should I do as i am very worried and depressed

Sorry to hear about Bruno. At only a year and 8 months old, his barking may changed slightly due to the large amount of barking he does when you are not around. Animals can loose their normal bark due to excessive barking. I have seen this frequently in boarding facilities. I would recommend reducing the amount a barking as much as possible and see if it changes back to normal over time. To be safe, always worth a trip to your veterinarian for a compete exam but for the most part not life threatening. Please set up a consult if you have further questions. Thank you and hang in there.
