Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | spayed | 8 years and 7 months old
After only feeling it, the vet said the bump on her side was a cancerous tumor, but that was before it burst and a substance(see picture) started coming out like toothpaste. It's soft but I can't wipe it off. Some liquid has also poured out. Could a tumor pour out of her like that? Or could it be that it's actually an abscess caused by an infection from her previous surgery to remove another bump in the same spot? If it is a tumor or an abscess, could it be removed after it burst like that?

Thank you for providing a picture of Luna's bump. Yes, malignant tumors can rupture, but so can cysts or abscesses. The only way to know for sure is to have tests done on it, such as fine needle aspirate. I would take Luna into another vet for a second opinion to get a definitive diagnosis as to what is causing the bump. Abscesses are treated with antibiotics, so they don't need to be removed surgically. If it is a tumor, it can be removed but it would be up to the vet treating her to decide if it's safe to do. I would have Luna seen by another vet for a second opinion on Monday. I hope this helps!
