My parvo puppy stopped drinking, drooling, vomiting again. Normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 24 days old

My sweet puppy has parvo. For the first 2 days he would drink his water, he just wouldn't eat. At about noon yesterday, the drinking completely stopped. He is all droopy! I woke up every 2 hours to provide him with liquids and I noticed that he is drooling a bit. He also just recently started to vomit again. Is this normal?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Milo is super cute! Parvo can be a very nasty intestinal virus and I have seen it wax and wan during it's course. I don't think it is unusual for the vomiting to stop temporarily then resume. Sometimes I feel they have to hit rock bottom before they start to get better. The drooling indicated nausea so that makes sense the vomiting followed. I am assuming Milo is under a Veterinarians care. I would call them and ask to refill antinausea medications or if you have them already and had stopped them, then I recommend restarting. If he continues to be very lethargic and vomit you should take him some where today for fluids and to have them feel his belly. I wish you and Milo the best of luck!
