Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 12 years and 3 months old | 11 lbs
my cat is balding, i'm not sure why. he eats his food and drinks his water everyday, he's always been kind of skiddish, and he was very anxious when we first got him, so he started balding. we've had him for about 7 years and i don't know why he's balding again now. he also doesn't over groom or anything. please help!!

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Mikey. It's hard to see what is going on in the pictures but a few things come to mind. External parasites such as fleas, ticks, and ear mites can cause cats to scratch and lose hair. Best thing to do is try a good flea product (Revolution, Bravecto, Advantage Multi) which treats for fleas, ticks, and ear mites. If this doesn't help, you should have Mikey looked at by your veterinarian. They can perform a physical exam and advise some tests to determine what is going on and then recommend a treatment plan.
