My dog has bald spots, red sores, and itching. Mange or infection?

Think my dog has mange he has bald spots on feet and legs and top of head and Sides of mouth with sores red ones and is itching a lot

It does sound like it could be mange. He could also have a skin infection causing the sores. You can give a medicated bath but if it's mange your veterinarian can do a skin scraping to confirm the type of mange or see if it's a bacterial or fungal infection. They will then prescribe the correct medication for Buddy's skin problems. There is not an effective over the counter treatment in my opinion.     I recomend taking Buddy to the vet to check his skin. There are several types of mites that can cause mange. The vet can do a skin scrape to see if that is the case. There are some newer oral treatments available that are very effective in treating mange. He may need medication for secondary bacterial or yeast infection as well. The sooner skin infections can the diagnosed and treated the faster they will heal.
