My canary is puffed up, sleeping a lot, and not singing. Is it sick?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male

My canary is puffed up.all the time, rest on perch, dropping wings, poop stuck in vent feathers, not singing anymore. Eats, bathes, drinks, but sleeping a lot. I've given a variety of food, moved cage. I'm worried. I'm not a bird expert. Female in cage kinda similar, but no poop on vent feathers, but puffed up and they sleep a lot.

I am concerned because all the symptoms you describe are typical of sick birds. If there is any way you can take this bird to an avian vet, you should do so, as it may need to be on antibitiocs and pain medication.
