My cat is 7 and keeps throwing up clear liquid. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

My cat started vomiting clear liquid yesterday in upstairs bedroom on the carpet. This morning I found 4 small, wet areas. Not sure if I should be concerned. She is approximately 7 years old. Adored her when she was approximately 4 years old.

Poor Sadie! That sounds like a lot of vomiting in a pretty short period of time - I don't tend to worry as much about 1-2 isolated episodes of vomiting, since cats do that from time to time, but 5 times or more in 24 hours is concerning. For this reason, I would really recommend taking her to the vet today if possible - he/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help determine what's wrong and get her started on appropriate treatment.
