My dog barks too much. How can I stop it without a bark collar?

My dog is a chihuahua mix who barks at anyone who passes our house as well as anyone we pass on the street as she goes for a walk. She went for dog training at Petco and they finally suggested I should buy a anti-bark collar. I hate to use a anti-bark collar. Any suggestions as to how to remedy her barking? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | 2 years and 7 months old | 13 lbs

Hi, it is very hard to keep dogs from barking. I suggest getting a trainer to come to your house and make sure he or she is certified as a dog trainer. If you can't do that or don't want to, the next best thing is a no bark collar. They make ones that deliver a spray of citronella which dogs do not like the smell of. It does not hurt them but it will deter barking. I would not recommend a shock collar because they can do more harm than good especially on such a small dog. Good luck, i hope this helps!
