My Yorkie sprained his paw and is limping. How can I help him heal?

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 5 years and 11 months old | 6 lbs

I have a very active toy yorkie that has a sprained toe on his back left paw and he is limping but I was wondering what I can do so that way it can heal properly after he licks his paw he is able to walk on it but he still has a slight limp what can I do

I would recommend taking Max to the vet, just to make sure nothing too serious is going on like a torn ligament or luxating patella. Your vet can do an orthopedic exam to determine exactly what's going on and what foot is injured and where. He may need an anti-inflammatory medication to help with the inflammation and to help him feel more comfortable while he recovers. In the meantime I would let Max take it easy, take him on shortly leash walks and no excessive playing or exercising for a few days until he recovers. Good luck.
