My foster kitten's eye is matted, swollen, and she's coughing. Is she sick?

I am currently fostering a 2-3 month old kitten from the local humane society. I think she may have coughed a few times but I didn't think anything of it. Anyway I just got home from work and her eye was matted shut and it looks a little swollen. I was wondering what this could be. She is still eating normally but isn't an overly playful kitten. I just thought she was calm now I'm worried she's sick.

Hi, it sounds like your foster kitten has a upper respiratory infection. She will need to see a vet to go on antibiotics and eye medications. For now, use warm water and a washcloth to hold against her eye and come out any discharge so she can open her eye. Take her to the rescue's vet in the morning. Without treatment, she can get worse. Good luck, I hope this helps!
