Why does my cat's sensitive stomach diarrhea now have blood?

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 4 months old

My cat has always had diarrhoea due to a sensitive stomach but today I noticed she had a blood clot in one of her stools and in another she had quite a lot of blood which was bright red. she doesn't seem to be in any pain

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Mars! Blood in the stool usually indicates inflammation. It is likely part of her underlying intestinal condition. Usually when there is blood I like to start them on an antibiotic like metronidazole. Try giving your vet a call. Good luck!
