We've recently adopted a puppy, he's on his second round of vaccines and is scheduled for his third and fourth in a few weeks. My spouse just got bit by the puppy hard enough some to experience bleeding, he says it's itching him and is worried because out puppy hasn't gotten his rabies shot yet. Should we worry?

It is very rare for a puppy that she to have rabies. If the puppy is showing signs of rabies (aggression, drooling, and other neuro signs) then I would contact your doctor immediately. If not then I would wash the bite wound thoroughly with some soap and hot water. It is common for the skin to itch after getting bit. If the bite mark looks red or swollen, then I would contact your doctor to see if your husband needs antibiotics.
