My spayed dog is bleeding and attracting males. Is she in heat?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 40 lbs

I have a femalelab of one n a half year old..I got her spayed in Jan 2017 but after two months she had vaginal bleeding n swollen vulva and make dog attraction..this lasted for 20 days....again she showed similar symptoms two days back..my vet is not making it clear the cause...can u help ?

It sounds like she is showing signs of being in heat. Sometimes when dogs are spayed there is a chance of leaving behind a bit of ovary which can still produce hormones. There is a blood test that can check for an ovarian remnant, I would ask your vet to run this.

    Occasionally despite being spayed ovarian tissue may be left behind. This can happen if there was ectopic ovaries, meaning extra ovarian tissue not in the normal place This requires blood work sometimes ultrasound to diagnose and an exploratory surgery to remove the tissue. I would recommend a veterinary visit to discuss your options to get Aarfas in the best health possible.
