Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered | 22 lbs
my 10yo daushaund has bright red blood per rectum, small amt. No lose of appetite & drinking as usual. How concerned should I be & will tomorrow be soon enough for the vet?

If he is otherwise acting fine (no vomiting, lethargy, etc.) and it is only a small amount then you could monitor overnight and have him examined tomorrow. You could try a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice and see if that helps. He could just have some colitis from eating something abnormal, infection, parasite, etc. and your vet can check a stool sample to help diagnose. Hope he feels better soon!
