Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat had a bloat last night and had diarrhea today he has no bloat but his diarrhea looks like ots solidifying a bit. I recently changed his food but this morning i changed it back to his old brand. But i've been feeding him in small amounts mixed with little pieces of cooked chicken am i doing the correct thing and does it sound like he's getting better?

Certainly a sudden change in diet can cause diarrhea in kittens, and it's good that Peaches has no bloat and his stool is getting more solid. I would keep feeding him the small pieces of cooked chicken in with his old brand of food for the next couple of days. If his diarrhea clears up completely, feed him his old brand of food only. Should the diarrhea come back, I would take Peaches into your vet for an exam.
