Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 7 days old
Hi my 9wk old kitten has had diarrhoea for a few days. I have changed her food to wet food and her pooh seems to be better. Now though she looks like she has a sore bottom. She is drinking, eating, playing and it doesn't seem to bother her but I'm worried it may get worse. Hopefully you can help and suggest something.

Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. Consider a veterinary probiotic such as Bene-Bac, ProViable or FortiFlora. You can fast her for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to her regular diet afterwards.

The diarrohea may have caused her bottom to get raw so I would try bathing it gently with warm water, dabbing it dry then applying a cream such a sudocream or a similar antiseptic. It would be worth worming her also.

Make sure to keep Cadbury's back end clean with a gentle bath if needed. If she continues to have diarrhea I would recomend a vet visit to check her for intestinal parasites. But if he diarrhea is resolving and she isn't bothered then the irritation should clear up.
