My cat's eye looks like a burn or scrape. What's the cause?

Hello, My name is Daniel and I have a cat that I recently adopted she is about 1 year and half old and I'm not sure if its her or something in the house she's been messing with but lately I've been noticing that her right eye is, well I'd like to say shedding but it looks some what more like a burn or really bad scrape. I've looked around the places she likes to walk/run around or just rub against and nothing comes up as dangerous for her, and its not like its spreading its just around her eye. Your kitty may have a mite infection or fungal or bacterial infection. I suggest you take her to your veterinarian and have him give her an exam to make sure it is nothing serious. She may need antibiotics or an ointment to clear this up.
