My dog has a red, inflamed bump on its stomach. What should I do?

This bump could be caused by a number of different things. It could be an insect bite of some kind, a localized bacterial infection or inflammatory reaction, or even a skin growth or tumor. If you just noticed it today, you could try applying a topical antibiotic spray labeled for dogs (available at most pet stores) and monitoring the spot for the next 2-3 days to see if it resolves. If not, I would recommend having it checked by a vet to find out for sure what it is - she may need prescription medication such as an antibiotic, or it may need to be surgically removed.
