My cat with pancreatitis is vomiting. What food or meds can help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered

My 9 year old male cat has pancreatitis. He eats Royal Canin gastrointestinal mod cal dry food. He has just finished a course of antibiotics however is continuing to vomit daily. He's had scans, blood work and an xray and there is no other issues. In himself he is active, chatty, eating and drinking. Can anyone suggest how to address the vomiting. A change of food maybe? Thanks

An anti-vomiting medication, like Cerenia may help control the vomiting so ask your vet about trying that medication. You could also add a probiotic to his diet (Fortiflora or Proviable) and see if that helps. You could also talk to your vet about changing to a hypoallergenic diet like z/d or d/d and see if that makes a difference.
