Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 years and 5 months old | 4 lbs
This morning (well afternoon when I woke up) I checked precious & I checked her uvula & she has a lot of hair so sometimes pee sticks to it at the tip & crusts up. But this time when I pulled it off it had a clear stringy/sticky discharge on it (not to be gross but like how women get) it wasn't a lot though & no odor. She's just leaving her heat cycle & eating, drinking, & running around normally. I was thinking maybe she had to pee really badly (she did) because she was up with me last night.

This type of discharge can be very normal in a female dog that is coming out of her heat cycle. If the discharge becomes thick or colored, this could indicate an infection in the uterus. Also watch for signs of not eating, fever and vomiting. These symptoms could indicate an infection as well.

A little discharge around the vulva during heat is not uncommon. I wouldn't worry overly, but if it continues or develops an odour or white yellow colour I would have her checked out. Likewise if she seems unwell, because it could be the first sign of vaginosis or worse, an infected uterus called pyometra.
